Sweet Night With a Sweet Boy

06/29/12:  Neighborhood
3 miles (walked 1.5, jogged 1.5)

D and I set off to walk the neighborhood tonight, just to get out of the house.  It was really nice out, so I decided I wanted to stay out for a little longer.  I didn't have any intentions on jogging because we just had dinner.  However, I started and if felt great!  I forget how different it is to actually jog outside instead of a treadmill - much harder and even harder with a stroller!  You don't realize how much you use your arms when jogging until you have to push a stroller.  Other mommies know what I'm talking about!  It's worth it though because this was my view tonight:

Sweetest face peeking at mom!

06/28/12:  Neighborhood
1.5 mile walk with a great friend and D-man in his stroller.  It was REALLY nice to be outside.  It really got me going yesterday.  I could have gone much further if D-man wasn't getting fussy on me.  I guess he just wasn't into working on mama's fitness yesterday.  I haven't been able to get outside to jog in a while with all of our crazy schedules.  A lot of nights I don't get my workouts in until 10:00/10:30 at night, so I'm stuck on the treadmill.

Have a great weekend!

Eating Healthy

06/27/12:  Treadmill
39.50 minutes 3 miles

Okay, so I try really hard to eat healthy.  Sometimes though, the margs and Reese's Pieces call my name and I can't resist (I know, strange combo - don't judge).  I'm weak.  But really if you tell me that you love eating healthy and it's not hard for you, I don't believe you.  I was reading in Health magazine over the weekend and read this little article (I'm not smart enough to have a fancy link to the web page, if anyone wants to teach me, feel free!):

It worked for me at Santa Fe over the weekend.  I did not give into those little golden pieces of bread with cinnamony, sugary butter.  I told myself "I don't eat those".  It worked.  Weird.  Just thought I would share!

I hope I DON'T forget this the next time I'm tempted!

Here Wii Go

06/26/12:  Tennis
(okay, it was on the Wii.  See what I did there in the title, so clever...)
30 minutes of my butt being handed to me by E.  I was sweaty!  And my arms are a little sore today.  I'm in awesome shape, huh?

Baked Spaghetti - 1, Me - 0

06/25/12:  Treadmill
40.2 minutes, 3 miles

BAD run.  Ugh, I thought I was going to die on the treadmill Monday.  There were a few factors that I'm going to blame on my terrible time though.  First, I ate way too much at dinner...  baked spaghetti got the best of me.  I went back for seconds.  SO good, I got the recipe from my most dedicated blog reader, Martinez.

Here is the recipe if anyone wants to be a hog like me:

Baked Spaghetti

8 oz. noodles (I used wheat)
1 can of tomato sauce
1 jar of the marinara (whatever your fave is)
1 lb browned hamburger
2 cups of mozzarella

Dump your noodles, tomato sauce, marinara and meat in a baking dish.  Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake at 350° until your cheese is melted.

The second factor would be my daughter and her friend shooting foam ice cream at me and the almost two year old trying to lick the treadmill as I ran.

Our weekend was cray cray, which is why I was completely absent from the blog world.  Friday night we had a fab steak dinner at my parents' house.  Saturday we invaded my parents pool, went to my niece's first birthday party and then to my sweet E's barrel race.

Sunday was church and invading the parents' pool again.  They just love us!

Ramblings

06/18/12:  Curves
329 Calories Burned
7 yes, 7 yellow dots = LAME

06/19/12:  Treadmill
37.43 minutes
3 miles

I was a tad slower than my last three mile.  It's okay, though.  I am just really pleased that I can make it three miles now!  One of my new years resolutions was just to be able to jog 30 minutes straight on the treadmill.  My first time to achieve that (which was before I started this fab blog) I only went 1.5 miles.  So after that I thought I would start trying to improve my distance and time.

06/20/12:  Curves
292 Calories Burned
4 yellow dots

This summer has been crazy busy so far.  My sweet E has finished VBS, basketball camp and is about to finish up dance camp!  Here is my little sweetie with her basket ball goods.

Then the husband sent me this photo from work.  I am so glad this guy did not catch a ride home!

That is a tidbit of the randomness that has occurred in my life recently.  Everybody needs to be THUNDERING UP!!!!  We need to support our boys!  We really NEED the win tonight!

Sloths

If you look up sloths in the dictionary, after this weekend, you will find my picture.  I was extremely lazy this weekend, very sloth-like.  Boo on me.

06/17/12:  Treadmill
37 minutes 3 miles
I am pleased with the improvement on my time.  Although, I was probably fueled by watching the Thunder.  I kept craning my neck to see the score.  OKC's finest didn't pull it out this time, but we will get them next time!  I am not ashamed to share that Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA got me through the last couple of minutes.  Yes, that is on my workout play list and yes I added it myself.  I have excellent taste in music.

Time for sleep.

06/13/12:  Curves
349 Calories burned
One yellow dot

A little bit of bball with D and Penny (our Jack Russell Terrier).  I'm quite the baller, I could probably give KD a run for his money.

Treadmill
43 minutes
3.02 miles

I pushed myself tonight.  First time to three miles.  I'm pretty excited.

Oh, and then I found this guy in the dryer:

Busy night!

06/12/12:  No Workout

I don't know anyone in Oklahoma that did anything productive from 8pm - about 10:30pm last night.  Did you guys see that?  Go OKC!  Started Thundering Up at work....

Continued Thundering Up at home:

Why I have to workout...

So proud of our boys!

Playing Catch Up...

The story of my life.  I'm already behind on the blog.

06/07/12:  Treadmill
30 minutes
I pushed stop before I even looked to see how far I had gone.  Worst run in a long time.  The treadmill won.

06/08/12:  Friday Fat Day
I didn't do anything productive as far as working out goes.  We had our end of the week VBS cookout and I ate too much.  Here is a picture of me and the husband at the cookout though:

06/09/12:  Curves
358 calories burned
Only one yellow dot today!  (Curves has a system that gives you feedback on your workout, green dots = good, yellow dots = not so good)

06/11/12:  Curves
339 calories burned
3 yellow dots - lame, I know.

This is Why I Need Motivation

First, most importantly - my precious, beautiful, eight year old daughter accepted Jesus into her heart last night.  Wow, very cool!  Big night at VBS, the Lord was really touching some young people's hearts.

Second, I did not workout last night.  I know, already failing.  However, I did something fabulous.  I have been waiting on a package from Ulta for several days.  It arrived yesterday!

My very own gel polish kit!  I had to try it immediately.

I was getting sick of paying to have my nails done at the salon, so I took matters into my own hands.  I did my toes as well, however, I decided you may not want to see a photo of my toes.  Maybe someday I will share that fabulous vision with you.  So far I am very pleased!  The brand is Lomasi, I had never heard of it, but their products have great reviews.  E and I each did our nails and toes, as such we have already paid for the entire kit.  Oh, and Ulta had a $10.00 off code you could enter and they still have it on their website.  I'm still pretty excited about my new gems in case you can't tell!

Must return to work and typing with my fabulously gel manicured nails.

You're so vain...

06/05/12:  Treadmill
2.3 miles
37 minutes

I don't have a specific weight I am working towards, I just want to be fit.  Basically, I want to look good in a bikini by next summer.  Yep, that's my goal.  I know it is vain, but this is my blog.

I want to be able to go buy this and not worry about how it will look:

So, help me stay motivated!

First Blog, Ya'll

I say ya'll as if I will have a bunch of people reading this.  I guess I think I am important.  However, should you be reading this, please do not expect an entry full of wisdom and knowledge.  Basically, I have become a blog stalker and decided I would start my own.  I am hoping a blog will help me stay accountable to my workouts because I will think people are going to read about them.  I am sure I will share a plethora of random opinions and fabulous photos of the happenings in my life.

I have the sweetest little family that includes my husband (J), my beautiful eight year old daughter (E) and my sweet 21 month old son (D).  We have an extremely hectic schedule but try to hang out as much as possible.  I work as a Legal Assistant, which basically means I am a glorified paper pusher.  Some days are crazy busy and other days we discuss the important things in the world like The Bachelorette, Real Housewives and the Kardashians.  You get the picture, all business.

I'm excited about this new project and to see how dedicated I will actually be.
