So, the Martinez and I have a new thing at the office.  It is our rant/confessional board.  I had to post my confession yesterday.

I just had a rough eating day Sunday for some reason.  I'm not sure what happened.

Okay, so on to more exciting things.  The project that I referenced the other day - Martinez taught me how to create a flower bed.  Now, you may think "doesn't she know how to plant flowers", no I did not.  So back off.  My aversion to plants/flowers is strange as my father loves all of that stuff.  In fact he has a greenhouse in his backyard that resembles a UFO when lit up at night.  When I first moved out he gave me a few plants here and there.  I killed them all.  One time he gave me a jade plant, which apparently are pretty easy to take care of.  She lived for quite a while.  I watered her with all the things that were left over in my cups and she was happy.  One day I accidentally knocked her off of my dresser into the trash can.  The pot broke and that is where the entire thing stayed.  Quite symbolic that it felt directly into the trash can, so symbolic that I did  not try to save my friend.  Fast forward approximately 10 years - I am pretty sure that we are flower bed professionals.  A&A Landscaping.  Sounds good, doesn't it?

Do you see the tree in the back?  That is a Weeping Blue Atlas Cedar.  I am in love with her.  I didn't think I was going to be able to find one, but I randomly decided to go to Home Depot (I am opposite of Martinez and do not like Home Depot; I am a Lowes girl) anyways, I'm just looking around and then I see it!  A big sign that says Blue Atlas.  I stopped, stared, ran and got a basket.  I loaded that thing into my cart and then shoved it sideways in the back of my car.  People were looking at me like I was slightly cray.  Little do they know... I am mwahahahaha!  I think I will name her.  Suggestions?

Rebel Without a Cause

Food for Thursday -

Breakfast:  Smoothie with PB2, banana and spinach

Lunch:  Cobb Salad from Chick-Fil-A; now, Martinez has been talking about this salad for a while now.  I did not try it until yesterday.  This was the best fast food salad I have ever had.

Dinner:  Fit & Active Almond and Vanilla cereal with almond milk.  Yes, cereal for dinner happened again.  But, guess what?  The fact that I knew I was going to have tell blog world what I ate for dinner kept me from eating chips.  Winner winner.

Snack:  Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich.  Here is a secret - if you are trying to drop a few lbs but have a horrendous sweet tooth like me - buy these.  They are 150 calories and they do not feel like you are being good!  Not like the packages of 100 calorie snacks that just leave you wanting five more.  For reals, ya'll.

I know you are probably surprised to see all this eating out, I don't know what the deal has been this week I just haven't been making lunches and such.  However, I feel that you can make decent decisions at restaurants.  I've been a crank pot this week, even got asked by the ol' boss what was up with me.  Couldn't have anything to do with shark week ending, nah.  And, sometimes, I just feel like I need something besides a salad brought from home.  I'm a rebel and I'll never be any good.

Today

Today has started rough.  Please everyone cross your fingers that it gets better.  It is Thursday and Thursdays are supposed to be fun days.  I woke up late, D had a bathroom problem, I got dressed like three times because everything looked lame, and as we were about to leave D spilled juice all over the island and floor.  Everyone got to school on time and that really became my only goal.  So I guess that is a win.

I like seeing things like this after mornings like today.  It is a nice reminder.  Be grateful that you are able to take care of all the problems and that you were blessed enough to be able to have those sweet babies.

♥

The Martinez and I have been working on a project that I can't wait to share with you guys.  It is not completely finished though and what fun are before and after pictures without a completed after picture?!

Food for Wednesday:

Breakfast:  Atkins bar

Lunch:  Subway sandwich (turkey on wheat, lettuce, tomato, pickles, cucumbers and sweet onion sauce) and jalapeno chips.

Dinner:  Huge smoothie (almond milk, strawberries, blueberries, banana and spinach), when I say huge I mean that I had so much left in the blender that it filled up almost half of my huge cup (movie theater cup for those of you that are nerds like me and buy the plastic cups) that I had already drank.

The Challenge

Alright, I know everyone has been on pins and needles.  This is a big one.  The Martinez and I have a new two week challenge.  We are going to log our food on our blogs.....  Dun dun dun.  This may not be a big deal to those of you that do not have the snacking problem that we do.  Here is the plan - we are going to log every meal and SNACK for two work weeks; Monday through Friday - we get the weekends off.  That doesn't mean we get to cheat like crazy, though.  It will just be a break.  I don't usually log on Lose It! on the weekends either.  And, you might be wondering why I would log my food on Lose It! and on the ol' blog.  Well, here is the reason:  no one else sees what I log on Lose It!, all you see is the amount of calories and exercise; which means I can eat pizza rolls, candy and popcorn until I reach my amount for the day.  That is the tricky thing with counting calories for me, I probably put worse stuff in my body than when I don't count calories.  Except this time around, I am doing it differently and hoping to see even better results.  I'm not really stressing about the calories, if I go over I am not having nightmares over it.

So, here goes for the first time:

Breakfast:  Two hard boiled eggs and three slices of turkey bacon

Snack:  Cashews

Lunch:  Spinach salad with broccoli, carrots, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, two hard boiled eggs and ranch dressing

Dinner:  Banana and Fit & Active Vanilla Almond Cereal with almond milk (I wouldn't really consider this a great dinner but I didn't eat until really late)

So, Easter happened and it was bomb diggity (<--- remember saying that?)

Yes, they had brownies for breakfast on Easter.

And now - for the most important part of my day yesterday - a client thought I was 22.  Yep.  It happened. I have a witness.

Here I go,

Here I go, here I go again.  Girls, what's my weakness?  Queso.  Except not last night.  Woot woot.  I went to Poblano with one of my bff4l's (remember that?) and I did not eat any queso.  Personal victory because I hadn't given it up for Lent or anything like that.  Speaking of Lent, I didn't give anything up this year.  Sad story.

On another note, the housewives collide tonight!  Brandi and Yolanda from BH are meeting up with Carole (whom I love and was the queen of the mermaid parade in Coney Island) and Kristen from NY.  I am sure it is going to prove to be an hour of mind-numbing, fabulous, trash television for me to enjoy.  I am giddy.

Martinez and I are toying with a new two week challenge.  That is all you get for now.

I took a break

It wasn't intentional, I just took a break.  I don't really know why; other than I've been a little cranky, crazy and quite frankly not in a good mood.  Gee, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that at the start of the year I was twenty pounds over my happy weight.  You think?  I am down ten pounds and have ten more to go.  I  know many of you (the three and a half people that read this) have been in utter despair and I am sorry for this.

How I lost the ten pounds - The Martinez and I were taught how to eat REAL food by an amazing friend of her's.  She made meal plans for us and everything; she is amazing and super nice.  I wish she could come live in my house and slap my hand when I reach for an OCP.  Except she wouldn't slap my hand because she is that nice.  Before we started that eating plan I had started reigning it in and lost a couple of pounds, then I lost the rest with her eating plan.  I kind of fell off the band wagon a little, but now I am back on with the occasional treat here and there.  I am eating mostly what we learned from her (spinach salads, veggies, smoothies, eggs, turkey bacon) but I am also logging in Lose It!  Which means if you want to be my Lose It! friend, you should start logging!  I already have one friend, thanks V!

So, since I've been absent for forever and a day, I thought I would give you a recap of what you have missed:

1.  The holidays.  They were great, as always.  I am so blessed I can't even count that high.  J got to be home for every holiday function, which we didn't think was going to happen; so that was super cool.  Below are some photos of the holiday cheer.

2.  I became obsessed with making wreaths for a hot minute.  I still like making them, I just don't dream about them now.

I am not an OSU fan; I made this for one of E's teachers.
3.  I decided to be Martha Stewart and tried making candy and pies.  The candy was ugly but tasted amazing and the pies were pretty but did not taste right.

4.  I got fat.  This could possibly be the result of eating my failures noted in number three.

5.  Martinez and I worked out at work for three days in a row.

6.  Do got a new bed.

7.  I am slightly obsessed with Flight 370.  Seriously?  Where did it go?  This only intensifies my fear of flying and my fear of planes falling from the sky.  Yes, I fear planes falling from the sky.  Like just straight down. On me.

8.  My kids got cuter.  I know you didn't think this was possible.  But, it happened.

9.  E has started another barrel racing season and she is amazing!

10.  Last but not least; I'm fairly certain that mermaids are real.  Yes, I'm still on that.  Basically, all of my research should classify me as a marine biologist.  With honors.

That is all for now.  Do you feel caught up?
