I Ate French Fries and I Liked it...


....but did not like gaining like 27 pounds in a day, maybe not REALLY that many but I felt so bloated and gross.  Move over, donuts you have a new friend on my "I do not eat" list.  You can read the little bit I wrote about "Do Not" foods here.

I am just going to go ahead and confess that I did not workout over the weekend instead I ate too much.  I am behind on the blog and I didn't workout.  I guess they kinda go hand in hand...

07/30/12:  New neighborhood
Walked a little over 3 miles on a new route.  It was nice for a change and the neighborhood had a good hill that we walked up twice.   Back on track after my weekend of laziness!

I Took a Nap.

Okay, we're going to start with 07/20/12, because quite frankly I don't remember 07/19/12.  Oops.  I have no clue what I did that day as far as working out.  Here goes..

07/20/12:  Neighborhood
3.5 mile walk without children

I should get an award for this workout.  I had dinner at my parents' house (which means I ate like a pig) and had two beeritas.  I still made it through the workout.  Win!

07/21/12:  I took a nap.  I slept on the couch for an hour and a half.  That was amazing.

07/22/12:  Does watching movies with kids and reading count as working out?  Yes.

07/23/12:  Impromptu date night.  Thanks, mom!

So what can we gather?  I have been lazy and sitting around on my arse.  Could someone please kick me there so that I will get going?  Thanks.  I already have plans to get my fitness on tonight, so hopefully I will be successful!

Exercising and Cooking

07/16/12:  Curves

07/17/12:  Neighborhood and Living Room
1.5 mile walk with D in the stroller and the Husband.

Then I did the Pinterest workout from July 15th.  I changed it up a little.  I did the crunches on a ball and instead of arm circles I did lateral raises with 8 lb weights.  Those little modifications really made it a challenge!

07/18/12:  Curves and Neighborhood
10 yellow dots :( :(  and 227 calories burned

I was so SORE from the Pinterest workout that I couldn't go full blast!  Ugh!

3 mile walk without children.  Woohoo!!

So last night I made a new recipe, you guessed it - from Pinterest.  I think I need a Pintervention...

Here is my review (I know you are on the edge of your seat):

So, it is basically lemons sliced, salmon on top, butter, and the spices you choose all wrapped up in aluminum foil.  I used minced garlic, pepper and Season All.  The instructions say to cook this at 300° for 25 minutes.  This does not work, ya'll.  I had to put it back in the oven two more times.  I'm going to guess that 450° for about 20 minutes would have been perfect.  It turned out good.  By the time we finally sat down we were tired, cranky and hungry.  I think I will make this again but definitely will not be cooking it at 300°.

Our side was this fabulous tomato and corn salad I found in Good Housekeeping


The recipe is as follows:

2lbs of cherry tomatoes sliced
6 ears of corn
4 jalapenos (Good Housekeeping says to put them in raw, but my fab husband removes the seeds and cooks them in olive oil for me)
3 green onions (I forgot to buy them this time.  The salad was still good, but we could definitely tell they were missing.  I also prefer more than 3.)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lime juice
salt and pepper to taste

This makes a ton, but it is good left over.  I didn't think it would be because of the tomatoes, but it is!  We will be having it again tonight.

Back to Work I Go

Seriously, is it really already Sunday night and I have to go back to work tomorrow?  Where did the weekend go?  Please come back...  Well, it's not so I might as well enjoy my RHONJ (Real Housewives of New Jersey for those of you who happen to have real lives) on DVR and my chamomile and mint tea.  I'd rather be eating Oreos...

07/13/12:  Friday the 13th
That means I didn't have to workout, right?  That is my way of telling you that I didn't.  

Something big happened, though.  I need some condolences, blog world.  My FAVORITE brown flips bit the dust.  My left one just broke.  She just said, "sister, I'm done - I've let you walk around me for four years now and I am tired".  I really think that is how it went.  Let me tell you guys about the best flips EVER.    J. Crew has the most fabulous wedge flips.  I have had every color and you can wear them for a long time!  My most recent pair, lived through a dang pregnancy (with very swollen feet) and almost two years after!

It's been real.


After a quick shoe replacement, we ran a few errands with my mom.  D has Nanu wrapped ...  Please see the following:

07/14/12:  Laundry?

Lots of laundry.  And I found this guy in sissy's Barbies.  Sssshhhh!

I liked it.  I did it twice.  1 minute planks are just mean.

The 100 Workout

07/12/12:  My living room
The 100 Workout (I'm sure you have all seen it floating around on Pinterest)

So... I was thinking this was going to be pretty easy.  The font is cute, so misleading.  I just didn't feel like pushing a stroller or getting on the treadmill tonight.  I start this workout and then halfway through I read the last line - 10 minute run.  Dang it!!!  It is 10:15 pm, I clearly can't go run outside for 10 minutes.  The treadmill won, I had to do it.  Um, also, do you guys know how hard it is to do 100 jumping jacks?!











The Humidity is Kicking my Butt

07/10/12:  Played with the kids outside
It rained earlier in the day and it was humid outside!  I lugged both kids all around in the wagon.  They thought it was hilarious.  I thought my calves were going to fall off.

The WT Life

07/06/12:  Neighborhood
Walked a little over 3 miles - Without kids.  Rock on.  (Thank you, husband)

07/07/12:  No workout
Husband's family came over for a late Fourth of July get together and I ate way too much and did not workout.  I failed and did not take any photos.

07/08/12:  Neighborhood
Jogged three miles


I jogged three miles.  I did not stop.  I kept jogging.  I was very pleased!  E rode her bike with me, I actually enjoy that because it keeps me at a nice pace.  The only hard part is that she wants to talk the entire time!  And ask me why I'm breathing so hard, thanks E.  Our time together was a great ending to starting the day with church and her baptism!

Here is a photo I took of E on Sunday afternoon.  Thought I would post it with the creepy baby doll.  Busy weekend clearly won.



07/09/12:  Neighborhood
Walked a little under three miles while E and her friend, A, rode their bikes.

Happy Belated Birthday, America!

07/03/12:  Neighborhood
3 mile walk

07/04/12:  Neighborhood
3 mile morning jog

This was my first time to make it that far jogging outside (since 2009).  The first 1.5 was easy peasy as I've been able to do that for a while.  I took a two minute break and walked.  Then got back to jogging for the last 1.5.  I shouldn't have taken a break.  I think my body thought it was time to stop as it was accustomed.  I made it, but it was painful!  I am so glad I got up and started my morning that way!  I felt accomplished all day and it made me feel a little better as I ate my big dinner.  Had to celebrate America's birthday with an unhealthy dinner, right?  Isn't that what we're supposed to do??

This is why husband shouldn't be allowed to shop alone.

Bromance

They set this up on their own (husband and brother).  I sometimes wonder if J married me for me or my brother...  

And this is how D and I enjoyed fireworks.  At home inside because someone was scared of all of the explosions!


We had a fun time celebrating the 4th of July, despite my two pound weight gain!  Although, I cannot believe the summer is going by so quickly. I hope everyone was as blessed as we were and are!

06/30/12:  Neighborhood
Walked 3 miles

07/01/12:  Playground / Neighborhood
Walked about 20 minutes around a local playground while kids played then went home and walked/jogged 1.5 miles.  I just couldn't get into a good jog.  I blame it on the two servings of diet pop earlier in the day.  When I drink diet pop my workouts always suffer.  I don't know if it is in my head or if it is real.  I just feel very heavy and bloated then my sides start hurting.  Every time.  So why do I even drink it???  Because I am lame.

I was more active this weekend than normal (thanks to my friend JC), which is a good thing.  I actually weighed a pound less this morning than I did Friday.  That never happens.  I ALWAYS gain weight over the weekends.

I found these guys in my laundry basket of clean clothes this morning!  Guess I get to re-wash.  Lesson learned...  just put the folded clothes away!


Does anyone else feel different when they drink diet pop and then work out or am I crazy?
